Yes, I finally saw
Chronicles of Narnia.
And it was SO worth the money I had to fork out to the damn AMC to go and see it.
I'm not a fanatic of the book - I know there are more Narnia books, but I've only ever read
the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. And that only once or twice. But I did love it when I read it, and I did think the movie was awesome. I hereby retract all remarks I made concerning my worries about Disney handling such a story - I was worried they'd pretty it up, and they didn't. No blood of course, but 1) It's a children's movie, really, and 2) it IS Disney.
The visual effects were awesome - none of the animals had that "CG" look to them that just screams "3D ANIMATION." They looked real and totally believable even while talking and moving around. The cats were
very catlike; I'm impressed.
So yeah.
I have no beef with this movie whatsoever. Story, pacing, dialogue, special/visual effects, casting, everything, was great. Two thumbs over my head for Disney on pulling it off.
Next I have to see King Kong (no I haven't seen it yet, yes I've heard it was kickass), and then some months of wriggling impatiently until X3 comes out.
And
Pirates of the Caribbean II after that! We just missed the trailer for it, coming in. So of course now I have to go watch it on
Apple.ca - in fact, I think I'll do that now...

Well that looks good. Let's hope it keeps with the same high quality of the last one!
OK well I have some storyboards to do, so I will bid you adieu...
Uhm, comic up Tuesday - sorry. Narnia sort of kidnapped me.
