Well technically we haven't graduated yet, but everyone was so excited to be finished with portfolio that we just had to celebrate. Not as many people showed up as I would have thought - but that's the way of semi-last-minute parties.
So we started off at Shawna's, to get some alcohol into us before we went out. Kim makes some awesome mixed drinks, I will tell you right now. It was blue and it was dangerously good. I had at least two and a half drinks in me before we left the apartment to walk over to the Banshee, so the few of us who were walking (me, Bob, Renee, Kim) had some fun giggling and skipping down the sidewalks.
The Banshee was pretty dead, actually. I think the only reason we stayed was because we were waiting for Mike to show up - and by the time he did we'd all ordered drinks and wings and were too comfortable to get the whole group to get up and go somewhere else. Not to mention we were all too drunk to drive, too lazy to walk, and reluctant to spend valuable drinking money on cabs.
We did get quite a few people to show, though. Six or seven Multimedia students, plus Felstead (MMDE coordinator) - which was surprising, but he's fun to drink with.
Well, after plenty of loud music and dancing around and shouting and drinks, some people left (got tired out of boredom, I s'pose - they should have come and danced with me n' Renee) and we decided to walk over to Shoeless Joe's for some EATS.
A couple people drove over (I'm not sure who had what to drink, so I'm not totally sure who SHOULD have been driving >_> ) but most of us decided to walk, and giggle drunkenly at Mike wearing Bob's shoes as ears. Or maybe that was just me. I'd had three more drinks (one very large) and a shot of ... something.. ("Hey Laurel, grab a shot. This is for MMDE!" "Wha... huh? Oh, sure, why not?") at the Banshee, so I was feeling pretty happy about everything.
There is nothing quite so good at the end of a night of drinking than appetizers. Me and Mike split some garlic cheese bread and two orders of chicken quesadillas - and they were awesome.
Of course I've ended up leaving out all the little funny details - like the ice-throwing at the restaurant table, and the menfolk picking up on the waitresses, so on and so forth. But those are the little things that I suppose you had to be there to find interesting or funny.
I particularly enjoyed when we found the shopping cart randomly standing beside the sidewalk, and I had Richard push me in it down the road - until (drunkenly) I freaked out and thought I was going to fall and jumped off.
Then some people drove or got rides home and Kim and I went back to Shawna's to collapse.
And I slept maybe four hours before waking up again. =/
Interesting, how every time I drink, I'm able to sleep so well and so deeply that I need about half the amount of sleep I normally get. I'm usually (we're ignoring the birthday party) one of the last ones to bed, and one of the first to wake up fully. Sort of irritating, really, especially if I'm at someone else's place. I woke up about six and thought "no... this won't do" and tried rolling over to go back to sleep.
I did... and kept dreaming that everyone had woken up and we were making breakfast or something. I think I dreamt about getting up at least three times. I hate doing that - you wake up for real and then think "aw great. Am I actually awake this time, or do I have to do all that AGAIN?"
Oh well. By about eleven I woke up for real and watched some Justice League before Shawna woke up and started wandering around. We played with the pictures for a bit, then she had a shower and drove me home.
And here I am, with a cat on my lap, a dog sleeping dangerously close to the wheels of my chair, and MSN open in front of me.
I think I've become far too much of a hermit lately. About time I got out and did something again.
Ah well. Myself and a few other comic artists will be up at the Toronto ComicCon on Sunday. If any of you will be around, look for us there! I'll be wearing one of my Pimpette shirts (as I always try to do when going to cons or meeting up with random comic artists).
OK, well I'm off. Going to finish with my taxes and maybe play some FF3.

AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SAM!
Because I don't think I can come to the party.
