Yep. Decided that today I would find out why my room smelled funny, and somehow I've gone from simply investigating to full-out cleaning and sorting.
I started about noon, thinking "OK, I'll vacuum around here and then go upstairs and have lunch."
It is now three-thirty and it doesn't look like I'll be done anytime soon. Hell, I'll probably still be at this tomorrow! XD
But I thought I'd start blogging as I go, because I keep coming up with some funky treasures I forgot all about - or just mostly forgot about. It's not as bad as last year, when I had all those boxes of junk stuffed into every available corner. Because of last year's scouring (
April 23rd, 2005, to be exact), I have a lot less stuff to go through. Still, I managed to collect more junk over the course of the year, and most of it is unorganized and could use a good dusting (or windexing, as I'm finding out). I'm clearing off and running the vacuum cleaner over every available surface, then windexing it, sorting through the crap, and putting most of said crap back in place.
I'm taking pictures as I go again, too. I'll put these up afterwards, cause it's just quicker and easier that way.
OK, back I go to sorting the shelf below my window.
(3:39 )
FOUND SILLY PUTTY!! At least one of these glows in the dark. Let's find out which...

(3:48 )
Sweet! The pink one glows in the dark. Pictures later, I'm charging it in the brightness of the flourescent overhead light.
(3:57)
The candles on my windowsill are full of cat hair. TIME TO SET SOME FIRES!
(4:56)
Ug, dustbunnies everywhere. Taking a food break, I'm stahhhh-vin.

(5:47)
I RETURN! After filling my belleh with zoodles and toast. And Dad has a ROAST in the oven and we'll eat that later... and roast beast sammiches for a couple days afterwards, yeys!
But FIRST! Back to cleaning. I gotta get into the last third of my bed-shelf thingy.
(6:21)
Once again I come to the conclusion that I have too many clothes.
Seriously. I must have enough t-shirts to last me two solid months, if not more. Then there's long-sleeved shirts, and then sweaters. Honestly I could go for a good three months without wearing the same shirt twice, and still have a few left over. Pants would last me a month, socks probably three weeks.
I've got a laundry hamper OVERFLOWING with clothes I've worn in the past three weeks - and still have a pile of clean clothes left over. I'm just pulling them all out of one side of my bed (minus underwear, hoodies, shorts, and pyjamas; they're in the other side), and it looks to be about as many clothes as James has in his entire wardrobe.
Then there's the stuff hanging up - the button-up shirts and jackets and tshirts and nice pants and the two skirts & three dresses I actually own (but never wear). HOLY CRAP DOOD.
I'm sorry, I can't get over it. I haven't gotten very many new clothes this year at all, and yet I got rid of so many last year. What the hell man.
Anyway, back to vacuuming and stuff. It's dusty behind my bed.
(7:16)
I wonder if that roast beast is ready yet.
I have plenty of toys still, albeit nowhere near as many as I once did. Enough to fill a three-tiered little plastic shelving unit thingy (picture coming). James makes fun of me for keeping toys. But dammit, I'm keeping my dollhouse forever, I might as well keep the toys that go with it. Then I can play with them, too, when nobody's looking.
(7:49)
Roast is nearly ready. I can smell it down here and DAMMIT I WANT SOME.
Attacking the blue-legged table in the corner now. It always has the most junk on it. This means I'll have to sort through another paper pile. That will all probably go to a drawer in the vanity until I feel like dealing with paper - ie when I'm finished everywhere else. Paper takes forever, cause there's so much to sort through.

(9:09)
Roast beast is very good - even when a little too well done. That plus corn and the orange sherbet and Freak Brothers cartoons, and we're all good. I shall begin anew in a little bit. For now I shall sit on my cube and chat for a little bit until i don't feel so full.
----
Well it got late and I got tired, went out to socialize with Dad and bug the cat.
Cleaning will resume tomorrow.
::EDIT::
Next post will be Sunday, and will include all pictures as well as another blog-as-I-go account of the rest of the room. Today and tomorrow turned out to be a bit busier than I expected.
BuMo show Saturday! Whoo!
